Crispy toasted baguette slices topped with smoky brisket, fresh tomatoes, herbs, and creamy cheese for a bold and elegant appetizer.

Ingredients

1 large French baguette (12 ounces / 340 g)
2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
1 clove garlic
2 cups (300 g) cooked brisket
1 cup (150 g) cherry tomatoes
¼ cup (15 g) fresh basil
2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
1 tablespoon (15 ml) balsamic vinegar
½ teaspoon (3 g) salt
½ teaspoon (2 g) black pepper
½ cup (120 g) ricotta cheese
½ cup (50 g) shredded mozzarella
2 tablespoons (20 g) grated Parmesan

Instructions

  • Slice and toast baguette at 400°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes.

  • Rub toasted bread with garlic.

  • Mix brisket, tomatoes, basil, oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper.

  • Spoon mixture onto bread slices.

  • Add cheese if desired and bake briefly to melt.

  • Serve immediately.

Notes

Assemble just before serving to maintain crispness. Use finely chopped brisket for best texture. Add melted cheese for a richer variation.
