1 tablespoon (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon (8 g) all-purpose flour
1 cup (240 ml) low-sodium beef broth
1/2 teaspoon (3 g) dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon (3 g) salt
1/4 teaspoon (1 g) black pepper
4 brioche or sandwich buns
4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese (4 ounces / 115 g)
1 tablespoon (14 g) butter
Caramelize onions in olive oil for 15–18 minutes. Add garlic.
Brown ground beef in same skillet and combine with onions.
Stir in flour, broth, Worcestershire, and seasonings. Simmer until thick.
Toast buttered buns.
